The Wizard Rock
movement is a growing phenomenon in the United States and beyond. As of 2008,
there were approximately 480 Wizard Rock bands in existence and that number
continues to expand. Wizard Rock is, by definition, music performed and written
as a tribute to J.K. Rowling’s creation, Harry Potter. Many of the bands donate
to causes that are near and dear to their hearts, such as the genocide in Darfur
or to literacy programs for young people. Robb (Robbo) Zelonky is no different.
Before becoming a part of the Wizard Rock movement, Robbo, a Parent’s Choice
Gold Award winning songwriter and entertainer, had performed children’s concerts
in hundreds of cities across the USA. He branched into the Wizard Rock movement
for two major reasons: One, he and his three kids love Harry Potter, and two,
Robbo wished to fight the disease that has plagued his mother for most of her
life.
As of this writing in 2008, Robbo’s mother has suffered from Multiple Sclerosis
for 38 years. J.K. Rowling’s mother was taken by the same disease. After taxes
and overhead, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this CD will go to fight
Multiple Sclerosis. 100% of any performance fees derived as a result of this
music (also after overhead and taxes) will go to that enterprise as well. He
hopes you love the music and that you join him in the fight.
